Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson performing at a series of benefit events in April and May

Credit: Jeremy DangerWith Heart on indefinite hiatus, guitarist Nancy Wilson will be performing both solo and with her current band Roadcase Royale at a number of upcoming benefit gigs in the L.A. area.

On April 28, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be a special guest at the From Classical to Rock benefit concert at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine, California. As its name suggests, the show will feature performances by a mix of classical and rock musicians. Ex-American Idol judge Randy Jackson will host the event, which will be headlined by The Goo Goo Dolls' Johnny Rzeznik.

The concert will raise money to support music education programs in Orange County, California. Visit FromClassictoRock.com for more details.

Then on May 17, Wilson and Roadcase Royale will perform at the Rock the Red music benefit at Avalon Hollywood in L.A. The fundraiser also will feature a performance by Wilson Phillips and a special guest appearance by Sharon Osbourne. The event benefits the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign, which raises awareness and money to fight the number-one killers of women: heart disease and strokes.

Wilson also is slated to perform at the 2018 Beastly Ball, a benefit for the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens that will take place May 19 at the zoo.

At that event, Nancy will be playing with Roadcase Royale lead singer and former Prince collaborator Liv Warfield; the event's lineup also includes Slash, lap-steel guitar whiz Robert Randolph and others. Famed zookeeper Jack Hanna will be honored during the gala.

Roadcase Royale released its debut album, First Things First, in September 2017.
